Credits/Audio >> Larry Romano Notes

When I met Larry he was doing quite well acting, and he was doing some cool music, too..a mix of funky rock with him rapping in his New York way along with some really good female soul background singing mixed in there and some Tower of Power style horns. The musicians he had were top-notch, too. His songs were all recorded with a drum machine and then a real band with that. On the 1st sessions he hired me for I replaced all the drum machine parts with real drumming, so it sounded like I had played with the other real musicians, but their parts were recorded long before. Larry's next project Deficit was more of a band, and this was a straight up, kickin', rock guitar trio. I recruited a super burnin’ band for this including Angelo Barbera on bass and Mick Taras on guitar. It was a lot of fun because this band being so good could really take the music outside sometimes which I like to do.
